Since there's only a few days left for the year I decided to make a recap of the best things I have done, encountered, etc for this year!
Category Movies
from this site http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/film/article3172078.ece
For best Movie, Transformers would always pop on my mind but since it was released last year, it didn't make the cut. I'm debating on IronMan, The Dark Knight, and Wanted. Yes, they're all action packed films and they're all AWESOME! HellBoy on the other hand was a pinch away from being the worst movie, if not for Twilight.
Worst movie of the year - Twilight (Yes, there is no mistake!), I know there's another one but I just can't pin point it, Twilight here seemed to glow the most in the dark. LMAO
Funniest movie would either be Zohan or Get Smart depending on what, because the Get Smart dude was totally funny even though he's doing nothing.
The Best Thriller would be.. The Eye, and Having a thriller/horror story as a category was even more shocking since I do not like HORROR movies.
For the Chick Flick genre, well I'd wager Mama Mia, but 27 dresses sure made me teary eyed.
Wall E is the best animated movie for this year, although Bolt was cute and all, Wall E made me go awwww.
Category TV Series
Since I myself has been closeted from the world of television series this year, and with the American Writers Guild or whatnot having their strike over, I must say, there's only a few I could name that I have liked.
Supernatural and Prison Break are definitely at the top list. Heroes on the other hand, let's just say my relationship with the series have waned. 90210 looks promising, but at the same time a bit cliche with Gossip Girl on the block, but it does give the variety. House, MD will be with Supernatural and Prison Break.
And I would definitely want to watch The Office and Ghost Whisperer even if I am a bit spooked by the later one. Queer as Folk would be in my to watch series this year. And the most awaited one too.
Category Books
My most favorite Series would be Holly Black's Tithe, Valiant, and Ironside.
The Least favorite one, but still able to finish series would be Twilight.
The Most awaited novel would be David Levithan's Boy Meets Boy
and then the most touching would be Tuesdays with Morrie which I have just read this year.
Category Music
Paramore would be my favorite band this year.
But Chopin's Nocturne No. 15 would be the most awesome music I've heard this year.
Katy Perry's I Kissed a Girl is my Ultimate LSS
and The Tingtings' That's not my name is the Beat worthy.
Category Games
Patapon 2 is my most appreciated game.
World of Goo is my most favorite
and the game I'm most obsessed about and still unable to play would be Red Alert 3.
Category Events
The Most Historical Event would be Barak Obama's Win.
The Most Infuriating Event is the Oil price
The Most unworthy Event is Manny Pacquiao's win against DelaHoya
The Most memorable would be my Debut.
And the Most worthy would be completing my Misa de aguinaldo.
The damn thing went haywire and my post suddenly disappeared.
I'm too lazy to even attempt to rewrite those things I wrote. Suffice to say, I'm trying to download some audio books hoping that I would finish listening to it.
I also found myself a copy, AT LAST, of David Levithan's Boy Meets Boy. I have yet to finish it, but I'll surely write a review once I have.
No I didn't finish any of the novels I wanted to last month. Bad Alex.
- Eldest by Christopher Paolini
- Septimus Heap: Magyk by Angie Sage
So I only have one week of school left before vacay!! XD
The sad thing is, I still have *counts* 4 deadlines to do before I can finally go back to my blissful bumming. And the sadder part is, I've been laying around procrastinating instead of finishing it. LMAO
These are the things I need to finish this week:
HUMAART : critic paper [12/9]And I know we have two other paper pending but our professor hasn't come to class for two meetings already. We still have one critic paper pending and our final paper which is equivalent to our final exam. DONE! YAY!COMPARC: case study [12/10]This one I still have not started my part yet. A bit weird since our professor would be away from the 10th to the 13th, I think. Just he's gone long enough to reschedule our exam on the 15th instead of the 11th.INTROOS: take home quiz [12/12]Due on the time of our final exam. Something random: I saw our professor (Sir Migs!) on Megamall yesterday. LMAOIMAGPRO: project demo [12/10]Our exam schedule is 3pm-6pm that same day. But our professor said that we will be demoing our projects half that time and he'll be including questions about it on our finals. T.T
A bit plenty isn't it? I feel like I'm ready to combust any day with that kind of deadline. Tho I think I would be firing like a missile after the 15th is done. I've shied away from practice for choir two times now because I need to finish at least one of this a day but then I've been going around places instead. T.T Bummer.
Oh the merry things when there's no classes.
Misha's birthday is today!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISHA! :D
And I'm here, waking up early, to do papers and papers and projects and shit. T.T
My exams start on the 10th and deadlines are sooo close, I have on the 3rd and then the 9th and then the 10th. Good heavens.
So my mom got me premiere tickets to Twilight and... well...
I...
The movie was a box office in US, gaining $70m for like the first day alone. I think. But critics say that it was just a B rated movie. Which I personally agree on. Box office hit doesn't necessarily mean it's good. Since it's a major hit on books, I believe people, the obsessed and of course the curious, just wants to know what the movie is like. It's a teenage movie, more on the chick flick type even if it has vampires and werewolves.
But anyway, the first part was a bit dragging. The movie tho, followed closely to the book and only taking away the part where Jacob tells Bella that he's a frigging Were. Or something similar. And it was what I was waiting to see on the movie. Boo. T.T I remember the book to be a bit fast paced. But that's just my memory. LMAO. There were bits and pieces they could've cut short. But I do like the fight scene between James and Edward. It wasn't anticlimactic. Negates the slow paced motion for the first part of the movie. Although I think it's a bit short. But it does balance the whole thing. I didn't like their make up. Couldn't they make the Cullens pale without them looking like friggin geisha? Hello? It's as if the make up dept soaked them in flour or something. It was a bit unrealistic. At first I was a bit hesitant about the Cullen kids. I feel like they were too old looking for the part. But Alice, Rosalie and Emmett actually did great. I like how they act, Rosalie especially with her jealousy. I didn't like how Jasper was portrayed. I remember him being a bit constricted in the book, like he was controlling himself very hard since he's newer to the vegetarian thing. But in the movie he looked so constipated. And always a bit frightened for his own good. I liked the Jasper in the book, although he's fighting hard for control he seems to be totally cool. Like ICE cool. Carlisle (pronounced Carlile) was, well I didn't like the white as sheet face he had, aside from that he looks like the Wilson brothers. LMAO. Jacob, jacob, jacob. He looked like a kid. And he's supposed to be like only a year younger than Bella. I think. But the long hair was cool. I just didn't like how they never touched the Were subject in the movie. The villains were awesome. Victoria was woah, and so was James. So yeah. And then there was Bella and Edward. I did like how Bella was portrayed, all sullen and everything. She acted good, just like the Bella in the books. Edward tho, he wasn't what I expected. I personally think that Robert Pattison wasn't cut for the part. I even think that Gaspard Ulliel would've been a better choice. LMAO. He didn't suck that bad. So yeah. I do like how he got rid of his brit accent, he was quite americanized in the movie. But I Edward Cullen was divine. He wasn't. So go figure.
I was bit pissed off with the people at the cinema yesterday too. The girls started squealing the moment the movie started. And they were squealing when the Cullen kids showed up. Squealing still when Edward showed up. And squealed MAJOR when Bella and Edward kissed. T.T LIKE OMG! SHUT THE EFFING UP. GAWD. The movie was overrated, and the squealing fan girls were OVERRATED. Hello, people are trying to watch. >.< I didn't pay to hear them squeal like darn pigs. UGH.
In other news, I'm SOOOOO excited! I got my QaF from JJ today and yay! I'd be watching it right this moment if I didn't have an exam tomorrow. BOOO. So I'll be marathon-ing tomorrow instead. xD I soo Love QaF.
So I haven't done any last month. Much to my disappointment.
Here's what I've come up this month. Hopefully, I'll finish at least one.
- Eldest by Christopher Paolini
- Faerie Wars by Herbie Brennan (seriously, I just need to listen to it since it's an audio book. SO WHY THE HELL CAN'T I?)
- The Secret by Rhonda Byrne
So it's the first week of a new month... And I'm all but accomplished. >.> Uhm. I kinda skipped on my reading list for October because I was too caught up with watching QaF, which, btw I stopped because I wanted to watch the whole thing in sequence so as you all know, I asked my blockmate to download it for me. So there. What else have I been doing? Uhm... Kinda watching How I Met Your Mother now, am in season 1. My other blockmate wanted me to watch it and I pretty much enjoy it so it's okay. (uhh? yeah?)
Aside from that, I've been doing icon bases here and there, posting it in my Livejournal account. I'm taking a breather after the midterms now but I have a critic paper coming up this week and our MP for IMAGPRO on the next. Which BTW I should really start now. OGASH PROCRASTINATION.
Our house had been very full for a couple of days, well since friday actually. My grandma and aunt and uncle from my father's side slept over Friday (Halloween!) and then went home yesterday. My cousins (from my mother's) then arrived said afternoon and slept over until today. :D We prayed for the dead yesternight and then watched Darkness Falls. Which, btw, is very very scary. My cousins were so scared that they promised to brush their teeth regularly now. LMAO. One of my dogs was frightened by our shrieks and screams that night too, poor Sam. We're so sorry we disturbed your sleep. X/ Then today we went to go swim in some resort and then went to some zoo where I was able to hold and carry a baby crocodile! Sooo cool! XD And we went and see some monkeys and ostrich and rabbits who were sooo big.
So, I hope JJ has finished my QaF. OMY, I need not the distraction from doing our MP!! O.O
I was kinda hoping to do some screencaps of my own and post it in my LJ. Aaaannndd, what else? UUhmmm...
FINISH MY MP!!
O YEAH.
