BAH... We had our defense last last week and the verdict? REDEF. Which is ok by me, btw but too taxing... LMAO So we proposed a different thesis topic, still in the field of tracking but...
ANYWAY, we're supposed to give our thesis proposal this wednesday so still cramming... We have a test in CT-Math on saturday, hopefully I do remember my calculus and trig for that...
HUUUMMMM.... Eda, Mac, Kelly and I watched Shopaholic uhm... was it *checks planner* oh it was the 28th. We also watched John Lloyd's and Sarah's sequel movie which i cannot remember the title. LMAO It was UGH! I wish I didn't waste money type of movie. But what the hell. Shopaholic was SOOOOOOO WONDERFUL!!!
I also watched Watchmen last weekend and it was such a crappy movie, IMO. I know Allan Moore, the author of Watchmen, is a bit sensual and everything, but they didn't have to like do that in the movie. Who the hell wants to see Dr.Manhattan's uncircumcised cock? In BLUE!! DAMMIT! MY EYES!!! THE HORROR!!!!
So my mom got me premiere tickets to Twilight and... well...
I...
The movie was a box office in US, gaining $70m for like the first day alone. I think. But critics say that it was just a B rated movie. Which I personally agree on. Box office hit doesn't necessarily mean it's good. Since it's a major hit on books, I believe people, the obsessed and of course the curious, just wants to know what the movie is like. It's a teenage movie, more on the chick flick type even if it has vampires and werewolves.
But anyway, the first part was a bit dragging. The movie tho, followed closely to the book and only taking away the part where Jacob tells Bella that he's a frigging Were. Or something similar. And it was what I was waiting to see on the movie. Boo. T.T I remember the book to be a bit fast paced. But that's just my memory. LMAO. There were bits and pieces they could've cut short. But I do like the fight scene between James and Edward. It wasn't anticlimactic. Negates the slow paced motion for the first part of the movie. Although I think it's a bit short. But it does balance the whole thing. I didn't like their make up. Couldn't they make the Cullens pale without them looking like friggin geisha? Hello? It's as if the make up dept soaked them in flour or something. It was a bit unrealistic. At first I was a bit hesitant about the Cullen kids. I feel like they were too old looking for the part. But Alice, Rosalie and Emmett actually did great. I like how they act, Rosalie especially with her jealousy. I didn't like how Jasper was portrayed. I remember him being a bit constricted in the book, like he was controlling himself very hard since he's newer to the vegetarian thing. But in the movie he looked so constipated. And always a bit frightened for his own good. I liked the Jasper in the book, although he's fighting hard for control he seems to be totally cool. Like ICE cool. Carlisle (pronounced Carlile) was, well I didn't like the white as sheet face he had, aside from that he looks like the Wilson brothers. LMAO. Jacob, jacob, jacob. He looked like a kid. And he's supposed to be like only a year younger than Bella. I think. But the long hair was cool. I just didn't like how they never touched the Were subject in the movie. The villains were awesome. Victoria was woah, and so was James. So yeah. And then there was Bella and Edward. I did like how Bella was portrayed, all sullen and everything. She acted good, just like the Bella in the books. Edward tho, he wasn't what I expected. I personally think that Robert Pattison wasn't cut for the part. I even think that Gaspard Ulliel would've been a better choice. LMAO. He didn't suck that bad. So yeah. I do like how he got rid of his brit accent, he was quite americanized in the movie. But I Edward Cullen was divine. He wasn't. So go figure.
I was bit pissed off with the people at the cinema yesterday too. The girls started squealing the moment the movie started. And they were squealing when the Cullen kids showed up. Squealing still when Edward showed up. And squealed MAJOR when Bella and Edward kissed. T.T LIKE OMG! SHUT THE EFFING UP. GAWD. The movie was overrated, and the squealing fan girls were OVERRATED. Hello, people are trying to watch. >.< I didn't pay to hear them squeal like darn pigs. UGH.
In other news, I'm SOOOOO excited! I got my QaF from JJ today and yay! I'd be watching it right this moment if I didn't have an exam tomorrow. BOOO. So I'll be marathon-ing tomorrow instead. xD I soo Love QaF.
Lauren Weisberger had another novel coming after her spectacularly loved The Devil Wears Prada that became a movie sensation.
Well, at first I thought who was Harry Winston? And then when I read the back cover about the book, I was like 'So, is Harry Winston the guy who'll change the three BFFs forever?' In my mind I was imagining scenarios like cat fights and evil doing and backstabbing. So okay, I bought the book out of curiosity.
Remind me again to check the net about the reviews before I hit the shelves.
According to this review in EW.com the book is a bit disappointing.
So tell me why is it sold out in two of my local bookstores and I just grabbed the last copy of it from my friendly neighboring National Bookstore.
It really intrigued me.
Hopefully, that review wouldn't unmotivate me into finishing this book. Not that I need anymore unfinished books in my shelf. I have a pile of list, seen my reading list for this month?
So I'm back from my vacay! :) FunFunFun! Anyway, that's for another post! LMAO
I found this fanfiction downloader software while I was browsing thru one of the Harry Potter comms over at LJ and it was just PERFECT for my one week vacation! I was able to download like 5 stories in my PSP! So cool!
Check it out! :)
So I have mIRC, Astatalk.Ms and Demonoid for my ever growing love of ebooks. And now I have the friendly donkey, eMule. Well at first, I was pretty sullen and dejected because, like any other p2p sharing software you have to open ports to receive and send things. And even though we changed our DSL subscription it friggin still cannot open ports. T.T Dejected as I was, and also a bit peeved that the internet connection suddenly went haywire when I configured the DSL router, *nailbite* I decided to uninstall my eMule application.
But then! I had the urge to try it out, and VOILA!( viola? ) It IS ALIVE! LMAO! I think it's pretty okay to use it now, although the waiting period, because of priority queues(damn those things) it gets a bit tedious to wait for your turn. But hell, you can just leave your eMule on and after like an hour (depending on the queue list) all your downloads are done. Yippee!
For downloads of eMule : go to www.emule.com it's pretty interesting, plus the donkey/mule is cute. LOLZ
Just got home from the cinemas. We were supposed to watch Journey to the Center of the Earth but then it wasn't 3D anymore so we opted to watch The Dark Knight instead. Christian Bale is so hot. Good thing they replaced Katie Holmes as Rachel. Nobody liked her at the first movie. Blech.
- I've found my new e-book haven/heaven. My new source of e-book madness. I came across this forum whilst searching for Willa Okati on google. I was desperate on searching for homoerotic e-books I tell ya. -.-; Registration is for free and they have a whole section just for e-books and audio books. They also have crack softwares and the shizz. This is actually a good alternative to the Demonoid site which isn't only back online, except for the forums, but is relatively, virtually closed for registration and only opens its doors to wannabes once in a blue moon. LOLz, I got my invitation key from my uncle. My uncles are cool. LMAO. Anyway, it's also very convenient to those torrent scared people coz all their downloads are direct links so the download's a bit faster except maybe if the host is rapidshare or some other bully server sites. >.< So check out the site I'm talkin bout, :)
Astatalk.ms the cool thing about this forum is that their main site is called Astalavista.ms like the terminator yo.
- So gossymer@LJ had some links in zshare of homoerotic original stories which the uploader has put down now. And which I wasn't able to download all, so it got me searching like CREAAAZY about it in google, that's how I found the above mentioned site. Anyway, found a heap o' gold in Astatalk, and they like, put down the links, I dunno why, but now I was smart enough to actually bookmark the link. Bully for y'all.
Twilight@Esnips has like 3 folders of e-book (homoerotic and some others, but mostly the first one) heaven. You have to register to Esnips tho, but it's totally for free so why the heck not. :) And before the whole damn web put down the links [I'm getting smarter because I'm freakin' desperate about reading gay novels, WOW] I decided to download ALL the e-books in his/her folder. Daym, but I ain't gonna be stockin it in my HD (hard drive, not Harry Draco y'all), I'm gonna burn it in dvd. Question is, how long will the dvd be able to store it? Years? Months? Days? Hmmmm....
- Our group in TREDTRI had recorded our song, it's soooo coool, can't help but be proud of it. I'll friggin post it in my abandoned podcast site when I get the final copy, then maybe upload the music video on youtube after that.
- MMORPG is out, WEB GAMES is in. I remember Mish giving me this link about monster web games, it was about vampires and werewolves. And you lot know how I feel about 'em damn vampires and werewolves. *grins* But I totally spazzzed out on that game, god knows how long I've not opened my account in it. But anyway! There's another WEB based game on the block. I dunno, maybe it's just me and my blockmates who's goin CREAAZY about this game. But what the heck.
Tribal Wars is like, Civilization, and I know that game and sims city is like BAM with people. I do like playing civilization, they're sooo totally cool. XD So this game, is just like that, and like any other web based games, it's time consuming but hell, once you start you absolutely cannot stop. I think I'm a bad person with no resolve, coz just a little nudge of temptation and addicted to it I can't stop. But that's just me talking. So hey, why don't YOU try it.
The first game I was talking about is Monstersgame. If you like vamps and lycans like I do. Then I suggest you try it. :)
- Like I said previously, I'm easily tempted and addicted to things. Just the other night I found the world of icon making. And I've been trying out these tutorials I have searched in google. Now I'm freakin' addicted to it. Worse, I've been up all night yesterday just twinking with my PS. *facepalms* I'm still an amateur, but hey I'm kinda proud of my work, so Imma pimp it to y'all. :)
I even created a new deviantart solely for the purpose of this. Check out my devart :) I guarantee you, it'll freakin' blow your eyes out. :) My id is alex-ism
And I'm like, in the 6th page of the first folder of my downloading spree of e-books. >.<
I can't wait for the Wicked on Broadway
to finish downloading so I can watch it. I soooo totally love the
story, altho I've not finished the book yet. But hell, I know it's
friggin' good.
So like, I had the whole day to myself and what better to do with it but to find something useful in the internet. LMAO
- Opera Browser - I don't really know what this browser entails, as I have just come across it this morning and well from the looks of it, it was fairly okay. But I'm partial to firefox since it had brought me salvation from the cruelties of microsoft and their tag-along Internet Explorer browser. I found out that it was crap at loading gmail tho. Lulz, and I tried updating this journal using the Opera Browser but I cannot even enter text on this big text field. I dunno why. >.< But aside from that, it loads rather fast and the interface is WOAH!COOL so I'm rather enjoying this new found discovery of mine. Besides, anything is BETTER than that crappy excuse of a browser called IE. BAH. I'd take this new baby anytime.
Visit their site at Opera and if you're curious like me, why don't you try it yourself.
- Ebooks - I'm considering UTorrent as my best friend right now. Along with that site-i-cannot-mention because it has brought me great deals of pleasure. I have found several books of my liking, Chronicles of Narnia, Anita Blake series, Vampire Chronicles to name a few. I'm actually excitedly giddy in reading all of these starting tonight. This is sooo cool. I even found some gay romance novels in the site too, which is like. OMG where have you been in my entire life. LOL A great deal if you ask me.
Now I'm off to dinner and a bonding session with my rubick's cube before I endulge myself in this guilty pleasures of mine.
Because I procrastinate like it's a drug. [I should be studying now, considering that I have an exam tomorrow]
Summary: [by firefly]
Kaye Fierch has been playing with faeries that no one
else could see since she was young, but she hadn’t seen any since she
moved to Philadelphia with her mom when she was twelve. Now they’re
back staying with her grandmother, and back too are the fairies: not
only her childhood playmates, but also a dangerously beautiful faerie
knight named Roiben, who Kaye saves from an arrow during a rainy night.
And the faeries have a task for Kaye, who is not, as she’s always
thought, the weird human high-school drop-out, but is rather a
changeling, a pixie, living under a glamor for most of her life. For
the time has come for the sept-annual Tithe: the sacrifice of a single
human to bind the solitary Faerie Folk to the Unseelie Court, a kingdom
of dark power and darker amusements… and her childhood friends want
Kaye to be that sacrifice.
Review and to this and the other two books will follow
I found this while lurking around the net.
The Awful Truth About Filipinos
I might say I'm partly agreeing with this, but then again where's my pride as a citizen? I can't deny those facts they claim - mostly because people here do act like uneducated people and that's just because they are uneducated people.
The Philippines IS a third world country, it is also part of south east Asia. I can't even rant about the whole article, I'm mostly frightened that someone would suddenly send me a hate mail or something. T.T And there's the fact that I'll be blinded by nationalistic pride and say things that are lies. O.O I can't even say I'm proud of what's happening to us - who would be? If people all around the world claim we are imbeciles and idiots.
Okay, well I'll just be stating facts then.
Eight years ago, we have grown for about 76.5 Million in number that would - in approximation, make us close to 100 Million now. Yeah, I'm not some economist but I learned in high school that less that 50% of the children's population attends school whole year round. That would make half the children's population working their little feet off asking for alms in the street - or doing odd jobs like working in a cyanide factory which is by the way doesn't only border in child abuse.
Those children who do go to school - only half of them graduates from elementary and a quarter of those are only able to graduate from high school. From those high school graduates - only half do pursue a college degree and a half of those only get a diploma. Less than a quarter of those graduates do get a job.
Can you see the picture here? More than half the population are uneducated, they are illiterate, they have no, values no manners and apparently no respect to their own mothers as well.
We were colonized by the Spaniards for 300 hundred years, after that, we were "saved" by the Americans, only to be colonized by them in the end and after a hundred years of "freedom" our culture has been devastatingly corroded by those "influential" nations - resulting to what we call Colonial Mentality. Our ethnicity has been long gone, our "roots" have been long pulled - as shameful as it may be, we are a nation stripped by our identity and plastered by other nation's idea of a joke.
Yes, we - apparently, are considered as a joke. I don't know how Filipinos abroad live, but one thing's for sure, if they're using trash talk there, it's heaven compared here.
But what I didn't really like about the whole article, is that how they have so many fingers pointed out to us, when there have just as many faults as us. We are neither Gods nor perfect human beings. What we are is reflected by our own nation, I cannot deny that. I can't also deny that people are such hypocrites.
I don't know if your mothers have taught you this - ours did, and even if we don't have roots, we still know where we came from. They taught us to look back from where we belong and not forget about it, we were taught that we should know our own faults before criticizing other's. We were taught that we should look at other's good qualities instead of the bad ones - however little they may be. And we were taught to speak our minds and stand firm to what we believe in - even if we were about to be shot by a firing squad.
I know it's hard to look beyond one's imperfection - and mostly one nation's imperfection is magnified because of media and prejudice. I know all of that. But hey, don't judge others like we're one and the same, we're not robots - we're not manufactured according to model/serial type. You can't say we're bunch of non-original people who copies what ever they see on the street.
Also, a quarter of our population here are Chinese. But what's great about it is they're all Catholics. Read your history books - even if there's little about our country. And FYI, Asia isn't just about China or Japan. Have you ever considered Russia? A part of Russia is in Asia. There's Thailand and Indonesia for you, and a lot more islands if you look. God knows EDUCATED filipinos are more fluent in English than your President. Gosh. And I thought our people are mental.
Anyway, she's Marie Digby and she's just like Colbie - a youtube phenom. Check out her account in YouTube for more of her songs and covers, she's absolutely divine! And she already has her single out in iTunes, if anyone would want to hear it!
I'm absolutely digging.
